Customized Programs
Customized Programs at The Schuylkill Center offer a uniquely designed lesson to fit the needs of your school and students. The Center offers a pre-designed multi-week program entitled Ecology Institute, activities for special needs groups and completely customized sessions at your school’s request. Choose from the following programs:
Ecology Institute
6 weeks, two hours per week at The Schuylkill Center
(Grades 6 - 12)
Introduce your students to their environment in this multi-week program specially designed to meet the needs and interests of your students, your curriculum and science benchmarks. Each session covers a different aspect of ecological systems, taught to your students in a very experiential way. Included will be discussions of habitats, adaptations, aquatic systems and more. Lab and field studies coupled with a multitude of discoveries will engage the students as they come to a clearer understanding of their world.
(Environment & Ecology standards: multiple standards will be covered in this program. List available upon request.)
Special Needs Groups
The Center’s Environmental Educators can craft an indoor or outdoor lesson to suit your students' special needs. The Center also features a paved trail, handicapped accessible trail that offers your students immediate access to forest, pond and field habitats as well as a bird observation area.
