Other Ways to Give
The Schuylkill Center relies entirely on the generosity of donors to conserve the largest privately owned tract of land within Philadelphia city limits. There are many creative ways to support the Center. We invite you to explore options below, or reach out to us to
Donors help to protect native flora, habitat, and the streams that originate on our property and feed the Schuylkill River: the source for drinking water for our region. Our open space is also a living classroom for thousands of Greater Philadelphia K-12 schoolchildren, habitat for wildlife, and a place of respite for the public. Please help us protect and care for this precious wilderness and educate the next generation of naturalists.
Donations & Gifts
If your workplace is a Tri-state or SEPA United Way campaign participant, you can donate using our organizational donor number: #10620.
The Center will receive the value of your gift after United Way’s administrative fee is deducted from your total donation.
Gifts of stock and securities are welcome alternatives to cash contributions. Please send the necessary paperwork to Patricia Boyle, Development Assistant. It will be promptly processed by our Business office. With questions, call or email Patty at (215) 482-7300 or [email protected].
If you are an online shopper, you can register at igive.com to have a percentage of your online purchases at many of the most popular online stores donated to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Clinic.

The Schuylkill Center’s Wildlife Rehab Clinic will automatically be chosen as the recipient cause.
Enter your email address and click on the ‘Join Now’ button.
Enter your name and a password.
Any other information requested is optional.
If you download and install the ‘Shopping Window’, you will be notified each time you visit an online store affiliated with Igive. Otherwise, when shopping online, be sure to visit the mall at http://www.igive.com/html/mall.cfm and choose the store where you want to shop.
eScrip works a little differently, but with the same idea in mind. The eScrip program is a fundraising program that allows participating merchants to contribute a percentage of your grocery loyalty cards, credit card, and debit/ATM card purchases to the school or organization of your choice. Currently, if you shop at Superfresh, PathMark or Shoprite, they will provide %1 of your sale to the Schuylkill Center.
Sign up is easy. Just go to to www.eScrip.com and click on the members/supporter link on the left side of the page. It will allow you to sign up using your preferred card numbers.
Make a Gift
You can double – and even triple – the value of your donation to the Schuylkill Center just by utilizing your employer’s Matching Gift program!
Unsure whether or not your corporation supports employee philanthropy through matching gifts? Check with your company’s Human Resources department to see if your gift is eligible for a match or contact The Schuylkill Center’s Development staff. We’ll be happy to assist you in procuring the necessary matching gift forms and information.
The Schuylkill Center is grateful for the support it receives from the following Corporate Matching Gift programs:
- EXXON Mobil
- The Glenmede Trust Company, N.A.
- IBM Matching Grants Program
- Johnson & Johnson Company, Matching Gift Program
- Merck Partnership for Giving
- Morgan Stanley
- O’Brien & Gere Engineers, Inc.
- The Pew Charitable Trusts
- United Technologies Matching Gift Program
- Vanguard Group Foundation Fund
Have a donation wired directly from your account to the Schuylkill Center.
You may make the Schuylkill Center the beneficiary of your IRA or other retirement account. The Center would receive any balance remaining upon your passing, and while retirement assets are often highly taxed when left to heirs, this tax-free transfer can offer your estate a tax deduction.
Beginning at age 70½, you may contribute up to $100,000 annually directly from your IRA to the Schuylkill Center through a QCD. Talk with your financial advisor to make sure you follow all the rules – and remember that once you have reached the age to take your required minimum distribution (RMD), QCDs count toward your RMD.
You may contribute to the Schuylkill Center through your donor-advised fund. The Center can also be the beneficiary or successor advisor to your DAF, receiving the balance remaining upon your death.
